I don't know how many of you remember our last attempt at preschool for Lauren. She did really good for a few months and loved it when I was there with her. Then, all of a sudden a huge change happened. She suddenly did NOT like preschool and did not ever want to go. I dropped her off one day, only to get a phone call 20 minutes later that she had been hysterically crying at the gate for me. When I got to the preschool to pick her up she was still crying at the gate. I was sick and pregnant and didn't have the energy to go to preschool with her everyday so I pulled her out of it.
As you all know, Robbie started Kindergarten. I dropped him off on the first day and Lauren was really sad. She missed her brother, but also kept saying that she wanted to go to Kindergarten. I asked her if she would be willing to go to preschool by herself and be brave. I looked into a great preschool that is on the same block as Robbie's school. I checked their refund policy to make sure I could get my money back if Lauren wouldn't go without me. Luckily they did give refunds the first week. Cautiously, I signed her up for preschool. I didn't expect anything out of it.
Yesterday was her first day of Preschool. This is basically how it went. We get to the door. She runs in and says, wow, i'm going to play with the playdoh. I stand back and watch her for a minute. She turns around and sees me and says, bye mom. You can leave. No hug. No kiss. No I love you. Just basically, a get lost. :) Sure didn't expect that. She loved her first day of preschool very much and was very happy when I picked her up.
Here are her new first day of Preschool pictures. She is a silly girl and she didn't really want to cooperate for pictures so this is what I got..... (btw....she decided to spill water down her shirt just seconds before we took pictures.)
