Deck of me: week 16

This weeks challenge is: get someone to contribute. My parent's were in town for the week so I decided to get their help. My end product had my dad doing the front of my card and my son, Robbie doing the back. I then did the finishing touches. My dad drew a playing card that said 4 words: Family, Friends, Freedom and Faith. Whenever my grandpa calls them, he always reminds them that these are the 4 most important things in life. So my dad contributed by drawing it...my grandpa contributed with the inspirational words and that made the front of my card. I also used ink to make the card red. I was going to have my son draw our family on the back of the card but he has a hard time drawing small on the back of the card and couldn't fit the 4 of us. In the end he decided that he was just going to draw him with his friend Kendyl. So, on the back of the card you'll see Robbie and Kendyl. Here is my card:

Deck of me Week 15: Parents

Week 15 of my deck of me cards is Parents. This card was really easy for me. The hardest part was narrowing down all the many things about them that I love onto a small card. If you could meet my parents you would know what I was talking about. They are service oriented, they are funny, they are kind, they are adventurous (we went on sooo many fun family trips growing up), they were always there for me(never missed a swim meet, band concert, waterpolo game), they are just all in all the best! I know you guys think that your parents are the best...but sorry, mine are the best ever! :) If you cant read the card it says(you can click on it to get a bigger image):

Robbie's Camera

Robbie received a kids digital camera for Christmas. He loves taking pictures. Somehow, he always wants to take pictures of me being a monster. He is very proud of his pictures so I told him that I would post one of his picture on my blog. Here it is:

Deck of me Week 14: BIRDS

The topic that Emily gave is for this week is Birds. At first thought, I had no idea what I would do for my card. I don't know a lot about birds. I can recognize a handful of birds when I see them. I things birds are beautiful and I love the different songs that they sing. I love springtime because we can wake up to beautiful song birds singing right outside my window. My older sister though, loves birds. She has two parakeets right now and also has 3 bird feeders on her balcony. She seems to know everything about birds and I would love to get into her brain and learn a little more. We recently went to visit her in Virginia and stayed at her apartment. Robbie, my sons bed was placed right at the sliding glass door out to the balcony. He was in heaven! He would lay in bed and watch the birds eating at the bird feeders all day long!! He loved any bird that stopped to eat, but he found a quick favorite. One that I would have to say is my favorite too. He loved the cardinal. The male cardinals bright red color is beautiful! Robbie would get so excited whenever the cardinal would fly by. So, excited that we ended up going out to buy him his own stuffed cardinal! This is why I decided to do my card on the Cardinal. To me, a very magestic looking bird! Once again...this card is digital scrapbooking.

Deck of me: What is on my mind!

What is on my mind? Well, really there is only ONE thing on my mind today! ROB IS COMING HOME! In fact, I am leaving in about one hour to pick him up from the airport! He was in Romania for a film festival this last week. The reason that I am extra excited to have him home is because in the last 6 months we have only spent 1 1/2 months together and now he is home for good! He starts his new job next week so he we will be able to see eachother every day!!! I am thrilled! So, of course, my card for this week says, "my sweetheart is coming home!!" Once again, I used digital scrapbooking.

Deck of me: Week 12

I decided to do something a little different with this card. I have been experimenting recently with digital scrapbook and have found that I really like it. So, for this card I decided to do it all on the computer. This weeks card was I believe. There are so many things in life that I truly believe, but I had to narrow it down to one. This is one that I am definately not perfect on, but one that I really believe. I believe that happiness is a choice. I believe that we can be happy everyday of our life if we wanted to. We just need to choose to be happy.

Digital Scrapbooking

I have finally attempted digital scrapbooking and have found it to be quite fun! Here are two layouts that I recently completed! I did one for Robbie and one for Lauren and I am pretty excited at how they turned out! I think I might have to try my next card digitally!
