Going to Florida

Disney Hotel

We stayed at one of the disneyworld hotels while we were in Florida. We were in a really fun finding nemo room. At the hotel they had little lakes, playgrounds, lots of sand, swimming pool and a pirate water park! SO much fun!! We also ate at a great restaurant that gave the kids a build your own birthday sundae and had the whole restaurant sing to them!

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated Robbie, Lauren and uncle Robbie's birthdays while we were there. Emily made them birthday cakes and we opened presents. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring plates or forks, so the cones from the castle worked perfectly!

Alligators

You can't visit Florida without seeing (and eating) the alligators! We were hoping to go to gatorland and I was going to take my picture with an 8 foot alligator but it was too crowded....I guess that was probably a good thing.

Dolphins!

One of my favorite things that we do in Florida is to take a boat ride. When you get out closer to the ocean, dolphins surround your boat. It is so fun to see them so closely! The kids especially loved doing this. It is also on this trip that we stopped at a nice little restaurant where my dad ate frog legs, and Lauren, Robbie and tried alligator. Mmmm...tastes like chicken.

The Seashell Beach

Robbie called this the seashell beach. He said that there are mountains of shells. Everywhere you go you are walking on shells. Which...is true. Your feet get quite sore after awhile, but it really is amazing. The kids love the beach and we spent lots of time there. I enjoyed it too, but looked quite funny after with my HORRIBLE splotchy sunburn.

Adventure Golf

You may think that this looks like miniature golf, but its not. It's adventure golf. Anytime I called miniature golf Robbie corrects me. We went with my sister Krissy and dad to play some "adventure golf". It was quite the experience and a lot of fun! Robbie did really good and even got a hole in one. Of course, Lauren won though. She was really cute. She would walk the ball to the hole, set it down next to it, but her club between her knees and knock it in. The real winner? Do we really have to ask? Yup. It was dad! As you can tell from the picture, we lost Robbie's ball at one point. Right into the water and then it disappeared to who knows where. Luckily we were able to find him a new one! 

Park and mini hike

Now that I am blogging this, I have suddenly gone brain dead and can't remember for the life of me what this place is called.  We were trying to decide something to do and decided to go here.  We brought a picnic lunch, played at the park and went for a little hike.  It was a great little place and we had so much fun!  Benjamin spent his first time on the swing and really enjoyed that.  And doesn't Lauren's hair look fabulous!  :)

Lighthouse

Rob didn't work this weekend which is a rarity around here so we decided to go to the beach.  We had wanted to take some family pictures so we were all fixed up nicely and matching.  After we finished pictures, we decided to keep driving down the coast.  We wanted to go find a beach in Palos Verdes area because we had never been there before.  Well, we didn't find a beach, but we did find a great lighthouse and lookout spot!  AND....we also found whales!  The kids didn't see any, but between Rob and I, we saw three different whales.  That is what the blue water pictures are.  If you look closely you can see either the tail or the back of the whale!  What a great find!  We will definately be back!
